Google Workspace G Suite Guide for Beginners in 2022


Google Workspace (previously known as G Suite) is a compelling suite of apps that will help you work smarter than ever before. I am a huge fan of the Workspace. That's why I wrote this G Suite guide to help beginners get started quickly.

What exactly is G Suite?How can you take advantage of Google's handcrafted apps? These and other questions will be answered in the G Suite tutorial. I'll also go over three things you should do before and after you start using Google Workspace.

There are numerous advantages to using G Suite. For example, by combining the power of Workspace, you can send bulk emails. Here's how you can go about it:

G Suite has been upgraded and is now known as Google Workspace. As a result, I'll use both names interchangeably in this post. Does that sound reasonable? Without further ado, let's get started! 

G Suite Guide: What Is Google Space? 

Even if you are a complete novice, I want you to benefit from Google Workspace. It will help if you understand what it is and why I recommend it. So, if you've been wondering, I'll tell you.

Some of these apps, such as Gmail and Google Drive, also have free versions. The ones provided by Google Workspace, on the other hand, are geared toward business. Google has redesigned them to make running your business easier and more professional.

With Gmail, for example, you usually get "devid@gmail.com." However, with Google Workspace, you get professional email addresses that end in your company name, such as "devid@webpostimpact.com." Google Drive's free version provides 15GB of storage space.

Alternatively, depending on your plan, the G Suite version includes 30GB to unlimited storage. 

Why Do I Adore G Suite Apps? 

I enjoy Google Workspace apps for one reason: seamless integrations. As a result, you can create email accounts for your employees or business partners and grant them access to all of the apps to ensure a smooth workflow.G Suite apps enable you to quickly collaborate with team members.

Apps for Google Workspace (G Suite) 

Almost all of these apps are free to use for personal purposes. However, if you want to improve your smart working style, you'll need G Suite products with more functionality. Install apps such as Google Chrome extensions as a pro tip.


Let me state unequivocally that I will now discuss the G Suite versions of apps. 

Gmail  

G Suite's Gmail Gmail is an excellent email marketing solution that allows you to prioritize your tasks. It allows you to stay on top of the work that is most important to you. It's a no-ad email service with highly secure communication.

But hold on, there's more. Gmail allows you to communicate with coworkers via Google Meet or Google Chat. Isn't it amazing that you can now do everything without leaving Gmail? In addition, each user can have up to 30 email addresses. Wow! 

Google meets 

Assist your team in remaining connected while remaining secure during communication. Google apps are more than adequate for conducting business on the go. And Google Meet is a fantastic addition for having friction less meetings.


All of your coworkers can see all of the scheduled meetings, ensuring that none are missed. Google Meet can also be used to connect teams that use Skype for Business. External participants who do not use G Suite can also join your meetings.

Google Drive 

Google Drive enables you to create, secure, and access files while you are on the go. If you already have data, you can easily migrate it to Google Drive. Google Workspace's version of Drive provides a variety of storage options.


What differs it from Google Drive's free version? Depending on your plan, the business version provides more storage, support, and shared drives. Furthermore, email and phone support are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms are all free to use.

You don't need to download any heavy software to create rich text documents, sheets, slides, and forms with these apps. It works offline, allows you to share files with others, and converts existing documents into Google documents (docs, sheets, and slides).
Google Sheet has over 400 functions, and you can also create your own. Google Slides, on the other hand, provides a plethora of templates from which to choose. You can also draw charts and create diagrams.

Google Calendar G Suite Guide 

Spend more time carrying out actions and keeping track of them on Google Calendar. It works in tandem with all other apps, such as Gmail, Sites, and Drive.


Schedule events and check your coworkers' availability. You have the option of making your calendar public or private to only a subset of your team members.

Google Chat


Google Chat Communication is essential in any business. And Google Chat makes it easier to do so without leaving the Google Workspace apps. The app also makes one-on-one and group messaging easier. You can keep your focus on your business by consolidating all of your messages into one. 

Google Sites 


You can use this app to create dynamic sites for your team, project, or event. You don't need any coding or design skills to do this. External visitors may also visit the sites, so it's not just your team. Google can also assist you in obtaining a custom domain for your business websites.

Google Currents 

Google Currents functions similarly to an internal social media platform for your teams. It allows you to enjoy valuable discussions while remaining focused on achieving common goals.


Send your ideas to your team and get immediate feedback. Users from outside their organization can also access Currents if the relevant administrators allow it. 

Google keep 

Keep is my favorite app for taking notes. It's also smooth, simple, and colorful. You can save not only text but also screenshots and other media.



You can collaborate with your colleagues on notes, lists, photos, and more using G Suite's Keep.

Apps Script in G Suite 

Google has made every effort to provide everything under one roof for all of your smart business needs. Apps Script is also included in this effort.It's a scripting platform for developing simple applications. As a result, you can create apps without leaving Google Workspace.


What I like about Apps Script is that it allows you to use the Google Workspace APIs. Other Google services, such as YouTube, BigQuery, and others, can also be integrated. If you're starting a business based on app development, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Cloud search 

It's an AI-powered assistant provided by Google to assist you in finding relevant information that can be shared across all apps. It has a card-like design.


The app can assist you in increasing the overall productivity of your coworkers and business partners.

Jamboard 

Whiteboards must have always been a great way to share ideas collaboratively. Google's Jamboard goes even further.


Everyone in your office can present, save, share, and use it just like a whiteboard. They can also join the Jams from anywhere.

Google Workspace for Business (G Suite) 


G Suite is a must-have tool for all smart businesses. It's like having a swiss army knife for business – you have all the tools under one hood. Google Workspace enables you to collaborate, organize, and market your ideas, products, and other projects. If you don't, you'll end up buying a slew of tools at varying prices.

Workspace Pricing for Businesses in G Suite 

Google Workspace pricing for businesses is determined by the number of users per month. If you're just getting started, the Business Starter plan costs only $6 per month for one user.

You also get a personalized email address, 100 participant meetings, 30GB of storage, and security controls.


Google Workspace's Business Standard plan costs $12 per month per user. It also includes all of the 'Starter' features, as well as 150-person meetings and recordings. You will also receive 2TB of cloud storage.

You must pay $18 per month for each user to use the 'Business Plus' features. And the features range from the 'Plus' and 250-person meetings to attendance and recording. It also has 5TB of storage and enhanced security features.

If you want to go even further, the 'Enterprise' plan will suffice. You must inform Google of your requirements to receive an accurate quote. G Suite Preparation: 3 Things to Do Before Signing Up for Google Workspace, Let me tell you three things you might need before you create an account on Google Workspace. These are some examples:

A web address: It is not required if you want to register a domain with Google. 

A credit card in use: Even with a 14-day trial, you may require it. 

Email address backup: For security reasons, prepare your non-G Suite email address.

How to Sign Up for Google Workspace with G Suite 

It's as easy to set up a Google Workspace account as it is to set up a Google or Facebook account. Navigate to the Workspace's homepage and click 'get started.'


Enter the name of your company, the number of employees, and your contact information. Google Workspace also asks if you already have a domain name or if you want to purchase a new one.


If you already have a domain, you must connect it. Otherwise, G Suite will prompt you to create a domain name. Then enter a username and password for your Workspace.


Examine your account information and continue with your payments. Google will now send you an email with a confirmation link. Once you've confirmed, you're all set. 

G Suite Guide: What to Do After Signing Up for Google Workspace 

After your 14-day free trial period expires, you may need to create your Google Workspace page. To access the page, go to your admin panel and click on the more icon. And the setup will necessitate three actions on your part:


Validate your domain: Google must verify that the domain is yours. 

Include your teammates: It is not required, but you must add users. Don't you think so? 

Divide them into groups: For the sake of the organization, divide your team members into groups.

Let's do these three things together to help you get your business off to a fast start.

Verify Your Domain Name 

Google will guide you through the process of creating your account. You will do the following when prompted to confirm your domain name:


Log in to your cPanel.

Create a "Meta" tag for your website (optional)

Add the MX Records from Google.

The new DNS settings may take up to 24 hours to propagate. In my case, the DNS records were changed in less than a half-hour. Of course, this varies. Meanwhile, configure your signature, profile picture, or logo, and notify your subscribers about your new email (if it is). 

Add users to Your Workspace 

Choose your domain name, then open the menu and select 'Email' from the options. To add users, go to 'Add or remove people from Google Workspace.' Select the role and press the 'Add' button. This is how you add teammates to your G Suite account.


Make Workspace Groups 

Navigate to 'Groups' in your G Suite account. Choose 'Create group' and give it a name. It would be beneficial to include a description. If you want, you can also choose who will be the owner of the Group. After clicking the 'Next button, you must have created the group. 

Set Up Your Cold Email System Using G Suite 

Now that you've signed up for Google Workspace, you can set up your cold email system if you want.
